Understanding Emsella
Emsella uses focused electromagnetic energy to stimulate the pelvic floor musculature. The treatment is intended to support rehabilitation of weak pelvic muscles and restoration of neuromuscular control for urinary incontinence.
At Aris, Emsella is not presented as a one-size-fits-all solution. Care begins with a focused evaluation so Dr. Antonio can understand your symptoms, medical history, and goals.
How Emsella works
Emsella uses high-intensity focused electromagnetic technology, known as HIFEM®, to produce repeated pelvic floor muscle contractions while you remain seated and fully clothed.
These contractions are intended to support muscle rehabilitation and neuromuscular control. During treatment, you may feel tingling and repeated contractions. The intensity is adjusted with your comfort and treatment plan in mind.

A physician-led approach
Pelvic floor symptoms can have different causes and may require different forms of evaluation or treatment. Dr. Antonio considers the broader clinical picture before recommending Emsella or another next step.
Recommendations are based on what may be medically appropriate for you. Individual experience and response to treatment vary.
The treatment experience
Treatment is performed while you sit comfortably on the Emsella chair.
A typical session lasts approximately 30 minutes, and patients can generally return to usual activities, including work, afterward.
Emsella uses noninvasive electromagnetic stimulation and does not involve surgery or an internal applicator.
Dr. Antonio evaluates your concerns, health history, and goals before recommending treatment.
Is it worth discussing?
Emsella may be discussed with women experiencing urinary leakage or concerns related to pelvic floor weakness. A consultation is important because symptoms, contributing factors, and appropriate treatment options differ from one patient to another.
Emsella does not replace a medical evaluation. Some patients may benefit from a different treatment, additional testing, or care from another specialist.
Treatment is not appropriate for patients with certain electronic or metal implants. Dr. Antonio will review your health history and device-related precautions as part of the evaluation.
Common questions
Emsella is intended to provide noninvasive electromagnetic stimulation of the pelvic floor muscles for rehabilitation of weak pelvic muscles and restoration of neuromuscular control in the treatment of urinary incontinence.
You may feel repeated pelvic floor muscle contractions while seated on the chair. Sensation and comfort vary, and the treatment level is adjusted for the individual patient.
BTL describes a typical course as six sessions scheduled twice weekly. Dr. Antonio will determine whether that schedule is appropriate for you after evaluating your symptoms, medical history, and response to care.
No. A clinical evaluation is required. Dr. Antonio will review your health history, symptoms, and any implanted devices or other considerations before determining whether Emsella may be appropriate.
